This Part of this European Standard specifies requirements for the properties of non-alloy carbon zinc or zinc alloy coated steel wire used primarily for the armouring of either land power or telecommunication cables i.e. cables intended to be buried in the ground, in diameters ranging from 0,30 mm to 4,00 mm. The nominal wire diameters are specified in table 3.

Der vorliegende Teil dieser Europäischen Norm legt Anforderungen für die Eigenschaften von mit Zink oder Zinklegierung überzogenem unlegiertem Stahldraht fest, der hauptsächlich zur Bewehrung von erdverlegten Strom- und Fernmeldekabeln verwendet wird, d.h. von Kabeln, die zur Verlegung in Erde vorgesehen sind und umfaßt den Durchmesserbereich von 0,30 mm bis 4,00 mm. Die Drahtnenndurchmesser sind in Tabelle 3 festgelegt.

La présente partie de l'EN 10257 prescrit les caractéristiques des fils en acier non allié revêtus de zinc ou d'alliage de zinc, de diamètre compris entre 0,30 mm et 4,00 mm, pour l'armure des câbles terrestres pour le transport d'énergie ou pour les télécommunications, c'est-à-dire des câbles destinés à être enterrés. Les diamètres nominaux des fils sont spécifiés au tableau 3.
