This European Standard specifies the mounting and fixing of components in the test apparatus to thermal attack by a single burning item (SBI) according to EN 13823.
This document is applicable to non-pressure plastics pipes, fittings and their joints intended for soil and waste applications:
- inside the building (application area code "B");
- buried in ground within the building structure (application area code "BD") and with a diameter greater than or equal to 75 mm.
It is also applicable to pressure plastics pipes, fittings and their joints within the building structure:
- intended for water for general purposes, drainage, sewerage, as well as for any other pressure application with other fluids covered by the Construction Products Directive;
- hot and cold water installations for the conveyance of water and for heating systems.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Montage und Befestigung von Bauteilen im Prüfgerät für thermische Bean-spruchung durch einen einzelnen brennenden Gegenstand (SBI, en: single burning item) nach EN 13823 fest.
Dieses Dokument ist anwendbar für drucklos betriebene Rohre, Formstücke und deren Verbindungen aus Kunststoff, die verwendet werden für Abwasseranwendungen:
- innerhalb von Gebäuden (Anwendungskennzeichen „B“);
- erdüberdeckt innerhalb der Gebäudestruktur (Anwendungskennzeichen „BD“) mit einem Durchmesser von 75 mm.
Es ist auch anwendbar für Druckrohre, Formstücke und deren Verbindungen aus Kunststoff innerhalb der Gebäudestruktur, die verwendet werden für:
- Brauchwasser, Entwässerung und Abwasser, sowie für alle anderen Druckanwendungen mit anderen Fluiden, die durch die Bauproduktenrichtlinie abgedeckt werden;
- Warm- und Kaltwasserinstallationen für den Transport von Wasser und für Heizsysteme.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie le montage et la fixation des composants dans l’appareillage d’essai à une sollicitation thermique provoquée par un objet isolé en feu conformément à l’EN 13823.
Le présent document s’applique aux tubes, aux raccords et à leurs assemblages, en plastique, sans pression, destinés aux applications pour eaux-vannes et eaux usées :
- à l’intérieur du bâtiment (code de zone d’application « B ») ;
- enterrés dans la structure du bâtiment (code de zone d’application « BD ») et de diamètre supérieur ou égal à 75 mm.
Il s’applique également aux tubes, aux raccords et à leurs assemblages, en plastique, sous pression, à l’intérieur de la structure du bâtiment destinés :
- aux usages généraux, aux branchements, aux collecteurs d’assainissement pour l’eau, ainsi qu’à toute autre application sous pression avec d’autres fluides, couverte par la Directive produits de construction ;
- aux installations d’eau chaude et froide pour le transport d’eau et les systèmes de chauffage.

Ta dokument velja za cevi iz polimernih materialov, ki niso pod tlakom, fitinge in njihove spoje, namenjene za uporabo na tleh in v vodi: znotraj konstrukcije (koda ombočja uporabe »B«); zakopane v tleh v okviru gradbene konstrukcije (koda ombočja uporabe »BD«) in s premerom, večjim ali enakim 75 mm.
