Diese Norm legt Verfahren zur Bewertung des Verbrennungsrisikos bei Berührung einer heißen Oberfläche mit der ungeschützten Haut fest. In der vorliegenden Norm ist auch beschrieben, wie mit Hilfe von EN 563 Grenzwerte der Oberflächentemperatur in Produktnormen bestimmt werden können. Die Anleitung gilt für die Erarbeitung von Temperaturgrenzwerten auf allen Gebieten, wo Grenzwerte der Oberflächentemperatur erforderlich sind. Ihr Anwendungsgebiet ist nicht auf die Sicherheit von Maschinen begrenzt.
