Curtain Walling - Impact resistance - Performance requirements
This European Standard defines performance requirements of curtain walling (excluding ‘glass in building’ which is classified under EN 12600) under soft body impact load criteria specified herein and tested in accordance with EN 13049.
Its criteria is targeted to safety in use and integrity of curtain wall in the event of sudden impact forces on the curtain wall surfaces. Compliance with the performance requirement is determined by the laboratory test.
It applies to those areas of curtain walling which face onto areas of human activity, either internally or externally and takes account of accidental impacts brought on by people going about their normal daily activities and impacts brought about by equipment and similar devices for maintenance, cleaning, repair and similar occasional activities.
It does not set out to define performance requirements of impact under exceptional circumstances such as acts of vandalism, vehicular collision, firearm projectiles, etc..
This standard will have no bearing whatsoever on any National Building / Health and Safety regulations which may exist and whose requirements shall apply separately and in parallel with these test performance requirements.

Diese Europäische Norm legt Leistungsanforderungen für Vorhangfassaden fest, die Stoßbelastungen ausgesetzt sind.
Das Bruchverhalten des Glases muss bereits nach EN 12600 geprüft sein.
Die Kriterien beziehen sich dabei auf die Nutzungssicherheit und Integrität von Vorhangfassaden bei plötzlich auftretenden Stoßkräften an der Oberfläche von Vorhangfassaden. Die Übereinstimmung mit den Leistungsanforderungen wird durch Prüfung im Labor nachgewiesen.
Sie gilt für die Bereiche von Vorhangfassaden, die von menschlichen Tätigkeiten betroffen sind oder sein können, entweder intern oder extern, und berücksichtigt versehentliche Stoßbelastungen, die von Menschen bei ihren normalen täglichen Aktivitäten verursacht werden, und solche, die durch Ausrüstung und ähnliche Geräte zur Instandhaltung, Reinigung, Instandsetzung und für ähnliche gelegentliche Aktivitäten verursacht werden.
Sie hat nicht das Ziel, Leistungsanforderungen für Stoßbelastungen unter außergewöhnlichen Bedingungen, wie z. B. Vandalismus, Verkehrsunfälle, Projektile von Feuerwaffen usw., festzulegen.
Diese Norm hat keine Bedeutung für eventuell bestehende nationale Bau- oder Gesundheits- und Sicherheits¬vorschriften, deren Anforderungen separat und parallel zu diesen Leistungsanforderungen anzuwenden sind.
Façades rideaux - Résistance au choc - Prescriptions de performance
La présente norme définit des prescriptions relatives à la performance des façades rideaux (hormis « le verre dans la construction » qui est traité dans l'EN 12600) lorsqu'elles sont soumises à une énergie de choc provoquée par l'impact d'un corps mou.
Les critères visent la sécurité d’emploi et l'intégrité de la façade rideau en cas de choc soudain sur sa surface. La conformité aux prescriptions de performance est déterminée par un essai de laboratoire.
La présente norme est applicable aux zones de la façade rideau qui sont tournées, vers l'intérieur ou vers l'extérieur, sur des zones d'activité humaine et tient compte des chocs accidentels provoqués par des personnes vaquant à leurs activités quotidiennes normales ainsi que des chocs provoqués par des matériels ou autres équipements utilisés pour la maintenance, le nettoyage, la réparation et activités occasionnelles similaires.
La présente norme ne vise pas à définir des prescriptions de performance au choc dans des circonstances exceptionnelles telles que les actes de vandalisme, la collision de véhicules, les projectiles d’armes à feu, etc.
La présente norme n'a absolument aucun rapport avec une quelconque réglementation nationale concernant les domaines de la construction ou de la santé et de la sécurité, dont les exigences s'appliquent séparément et en parallèle des présentes prescriptions de performance d'essai.

Ta standard določa zahteve glede zmogljivosti za obešene fasade (razen za »steklo v stavbah«, ki je razvrščeno v standardu EN 12600) na podlagi kriterijev obremenitve ob udarcu z mehkim telesom, ki so navedeni v tem dokumentu in preskušeni v skladu s standardom EN 13049. Kriteriji so namenjeni zagotavljanju varne uporabe in celovitosti obešene fasade v primeru nenadnega udarca na njeni površini. Skladnost z zahtevami glede zmogljivosti se ugotovi z laboratorijskim preskusom. Standard se uporablja za dele obešene fasade, ki so obrnjeni proti območjem človeške dejavnosti, tako notranje kot zunanje, ter upošteva naključne udarce, ki jih povzročijo ljudje pri vsakodnevnih aktivnostih oziroma oprema in podobne naprave za vzdrževanje, čiščenje, popravilo in podobne občasne dejavnosti. Njegov namen ni določitev zahtev glede zmogljivosti pri udarcih v izjemnih okoliščinah, kot so vandalizem, trk vozila, izstrelki iz orožja itd.
