EN 13246 is a CEN (European) packaging standard that specifies the dimensions and physical properties of tensional steel strapping used to secure, close or strengthen packages and to band unit loads. The standard defines the types of steel strapping covered, required mechanical properties, dimensional tolerances and permissible deformations, plus guidance on finishes, testing and coil handling.
