Describes test methods and procedures for ionizing radiation measurement systems designed for either continuous or discrete measurements and checks of mass per unit of surface, mass per unit of length, or thickness of materials produced in industrial processes.

Specifies constructional requirements for the design of instruments and the radiation protection to be provided in the case of radiometric gauges. Special attention is drawn to the stability of the source housing in the event of fire.
