CEN/TC 274/SC 1/WG 3 is a Subcommittee within the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). It is named "Noise and vibrations" and is responsible for: Establishing of an amendment to EN 1915-1 with conditions and methods for measuring noise and vibrations on GSE (see CEN/TC 274 - Resolution No. 66). This committee has published 4 standards.
CEN/TC 274/SC 1/WG 3 develops CEN standards. The scope of work includes: Establishing of an amendment to EN 1915-1 with conditions and methods for measuring noise and vibrations on GSE (see CEN/TC 274 - Resolution No. 66). Currently, there are 4 published standards from this subcommittee.
The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) is a public standards organization that brings together the national standardization bodies of 34 European countries. CEN provides a platform for developing European Standards (ENs) and other technical documents in relation to various products, materials, services, and processes, supporting the European Single Market.
A Subcommittee (SC) in CEN operates under a Technical Committee and focuses on a specific subset of the TC's scope. Subcommittees develop standards and technical specifications in their specialized area, reporting to their parent Technical Committee. They may also have working groups for detailed technical work.
This European Standard deals with whole body vibration as a significant hazard. It also specifies the methods for determining the vibration emission transmitted to the whole body of drivers standing and/or seated on freely moveable GSE, when driving for purposes of type evaluation, declaration and methods of verifying vibration emission.
The test results are not applicable to the determination of whole body vibration exposure of persons.
This European Standard is intended to be used in conjunction with the other parts of EN 1915, and with the relevant part of EN 12312.
