Reinforcements - Specification for textile glass chopped strands - Part 1: Designation
1.1 This part 1 of EN 12971 establishes a method of designation for chopped strands made from continuous filament textile glass strands, which may be used as the basis for specifications. 1.2 This designation system is for chopped strands used for the reinforcement of plastics and the manufacture of synthetic bonded non-woven materials. It does not apply to chopped strands made from staple fibres.

1.1 Teil 1 der Norm EN 12971 stellt ein Bezeichnungssystem für geschnittenes Textilglas auf, zu dem Endlos-Filamentgarne gehören. Dieses System kann als Spezifikationsbasis dienen. 1.2 Dieses Bezeichnungssystem ist bestimmt für geschnittenes Textilglas, das für die Verstärkung von Kunststoffen und für die Herstellung von nichtgewebtem Material mit synthetischem Bindemittel eingesetzt wird. Es bezieht sich nicht auf geschnittenes Textilglas aus Glasstapelfasern.

1.1 Cette partie 1 de l'EN 12971 établit un systeme de désignation des fils de verre coupés constitués de filaments continus, systeme qui peut etre utilisé comme base de spécification. 1.2 Ce systeme de désignation est destiné aux fils coupés utilisés pour le renforcement des plastiques et la fabrication de matériaux non tissés a liant synthétique. Il ne s'applique pas aux fils coupés réalisés a partir de verranne.
