4 Truck configuration
4.1 General
For truck test configuration, 4.2 and EN 16842-1:2018, Clause 4 shall apply.
4.2 Fork height
The load carrying surface of the fork arms, measured at the heel, shall be positioned up to 120 mm above
the floor.
5 Test equipment
For test equipment, EN 16842-1:2018, Clause 5 shall apply with the following exception:
Trucks with foldable operator platforms shall be excepted from the requirement 5.2.2 of
EN 16842-1:2018.
NOTE For trucks with foldable operator platform the lighting equipment is rotated outside the plan view
outline of the lift truck in some test positions without anything to restrict visibility. These trucks are not equipped
with enclosures for operator protection or overhead guards.
6 Test procedures for direct visibility
6.1 Lighting equipment position
6.1.1 General
The visibility from the industrial truck shall be determined from the normal operating ride-on position
with the lighting equipment and a test body or screen. The lighting equipment simulates the range of eye
positions of the operator. The test body or test screen simulates an obstacle to be seen.
6.1.2 Stand-on operated trucks
The fixture of the lighting equipment shall be positioned relative to the standing index point (STIP).
The STIP is given for a stand-on operator in the normal operating position, with the operator standing at
the platform and controlling all functions.
Depending on the performed tasks (driving/manoeuvring forward or backward) different standing
positions (position and orientation on the platform) can be defined by the manufacturer.
Procedure for locating the STIP:
a) determine the appropriate foot positions for the truck being evaluated;
b) determine the position of the ankle pivot point by the shoe outline and the data given in Figur
