1  Scope, paragraph after NOTE 2
Replace the paragraph with the following paragraph:
“This document only covers the function of a quick-release cylinder valve as a closure. Other functions that
are possibly integrated in the valve can be covered by other standards. Such standards do however not
constitute requirements according to this document.”

1  Scope, new NOTE 3
Add the following Note at the end of clause 3:
“NOTE 3 Certain specific requirements for quick-release cylinder valves for fixed fire-fighting systems
in addition to those that are given in this document are specified in ISO 16003 and at a regional level, e.g. in
EN 12094–4. Certain specific requirements for residual pressure valves (RPV), in addition to those that are
given in this document, are given in ISO 15996.”

2  Reference to ISO 10297 and ISO 17879
Substitute “ISO 10297:2014+Amd1:2017” with “ISO 10297:2024” and “ISO 17879:2017” with “ISO 17879:2026”.

4.1  First paragraph
Substitute the first paragraph with the following paragraph:
“Quick-release cylinder valves shall comply with all requirements of ISO 10297, ISO 17879 or ISO 23826
(except Clause 8), as applicable, unless this document expressly allows differing requirements or stipulates
additional requirements.”
