This document (prEN 647:2026) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 172 “Paper, pulp
and board”, the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This document is currently submitted to the CEN Enquiry.
This document will supersede EN 647:1993.
This document includes the following significant technical changes with respect to EN 647:1993:
— revision of Clause 8 and Clause 9 with the addition of detailed procedures for a 2 h extraction and
30 min extraction;
— inclusion of tea filter papers in the procedure;
— addition of Clause 10 for the analysis of the filtrate;
— addition of Annex A for the calculation of migration of individual compounds.
1 Scope
This document specifies the preparation of a hot water extract for the determination of certain migrants
in paper and board intended to come into contact with foodstuffs.
