FOREWORD
IS0 (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation
(IS0 Member Bodies). The work of developing
of national standards institutes
is carried out through IS0 Technical Committees. Every
International Standards
Member Body interested in a subject for which a Technical Committee has been set
up has the right to be represented on that Committee. International organizations,
governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work.
Draft International Standards adopted by the Technical Committees are circulated
to the Member Bodies for approval before their acceptance as International
Standards by the IS0 Council.
Prior to 1972, the results of the work of the Technical Committees were published
as IS0 Recommendations; these documents are now in the process of being
transformed into International Standards. As part of this process, Technical
Committee ISO/TC 41 has reviewed IS0 Recommendation R 99 and found it
technically suitable for transformation. International Standard IS0 99 therefore
replaces IS0 Recommendation R 99-1959 to which it is technically identical.
IS0 Recommendation R 99 was approved by the Member Bodies of the following
countries :

No Member Body expressed disapproval of the Recommendation.
No Member Body disapproved the transformation of ISO/R 99 into an
International Standard.

1 SCOPE AND FIELD OF APPLICATION 2 In the present state of engineering practice, the following
rounding off is permitted in the case of certain inch values.
This International Standard lays down the diameters and
tolerances of pulleys for flat transmission belts.
TABLE 2 - Rounding off in inches
NOTE - The rim-widths and the crowns of these pulleys are given
respectively in IS0 22 and IS0 100.

AVANT-PROPOS
L'ISO (Organisation Internationale de Normalisation) est une fédération mondiale
d'organismes nationaux de normalisation (Comités Membres ISO). L'élaboration de
Normes Internationales est confiée aux Comités Techniques ISO. Chaque Comité
Membre intéressé par une étude a le droit de faire partie du Comité Technique
correspondant. Les organisations internationales, gouvernementales et non
gouvernementales, en liaison avec I'ISO, participent égaiement aux travaux.
Les Projets de Normes Internationales adoptés par les Comités Techniques sont
soumis aux Comités Membres pour approbation, avant leur acceptation comme
Normes Internationales par le Conseil de I'ISO.
Avant 1972, les résultats des travaux des Comités Techniques étaient publiés
comme Recommandations ISO; maintenant, ces documents sont en cours de
transformation en Normes Internationales. Compte tenu de cette procédure, le
Comité Technique ISO/TC 41 a examiné la Recommandation ISO/R 99 et est d'avis
qu'elle peut, du point de vue technique, être transformée en Norme Internationale.
La présente Norme Internationale remplace donc la Recommandation
ISO/R 99-1959 à laquelle elle est techniquement identique.
La Recommandation ISO/R 99 avait été approuvée par les Comités Membres des
pays suivants :

admis pour certaines valeurs en inches.
La présente Norme Internationale fixe les diamètres et les
tolérances des poulies pour courroies plates de transmission.
TABLEAU 2 - Arrondissages en inches
NOTE - Les largeurs de jante et le bombement de ces poulies font
respectivement l'objet de VISO 22 et de I'ISO 100.
