1.1. In dieser Internationalen Norm ist ein Verfahren zur Kennzeichnung von Probenachsen in bezug auf die Kornausrichtung des Gefüges mit Hilfe eines Koordinatensystems festgelegt. 1.2. Die trifft auf ungekerbte und gekerbte Metall-Proben zu. 1.3. Das vorgestellte System ist nur für die Anwendung bei solchen Werkstoffen vorgesehen, wo eine homogene Kornausrichtung im Werkstoffvolumen vorliegt (siehe Abschnitt 4.2 und Anhang A).
