This part of EN 20 specifies a method for the determination of the protective effectiveness or the toxic values of a wood preservative against infestation by Lyctus brunneus (Stephens) when the product is applied as a surface treatment to wood. This method is applicable to: - Water-insoluble chemicals which are being studied as active insecticides, or, - Organic formulations, as supplied or as prepared in the laboratory by dilution of concentrates, or, - Organic water-dispersible formulations as supplied or as prepared in the laboratory by dilution of concentrates, or - Water-soluble materials e.g salts

Dieser Teil der vorliegenden Europäischen Norm legt ein Verfahren zum Bestimmen der vorbeugenden Wirkung eines Holzschutzmittels gegen Befall durch Lyctus brunneus (Stephens), wobei das Schutzmittel durch Behandlung seiner Oberfäche auf das Holz aufgebracht wird. Dieses Verfahren ist anwendbar für: - nicht wasserlösliche chemische Erzeugnisse, die als Wirkstofffe untersucht werden, - nicht wasserlösliche organische Erzeugnisse im Anlieferungßustand oder in der Form, wie sie im Laboratorium aus Konzentraten hergestellt werden.

La présente méthode est applicable: - soit aux produits chimiques non hydrosoluble étudiés en tant que matières actives; - soit aux formules organiques telles qu'elles sont livrées ou obtenues en laboratoire à partir de concentrés.
