This standard specifies a method and provides conventions for the calculation of the transmission heat loss coefficient of buildings and parts of buildings. For the purpose of this standard, the heated space is assumed to be at uniform temperature. Heat loss by ventilation is not within the scope of this standard. However, in order to evaluate transmission heat loss through unheated spaces, this standard gives conventional values of air change rates of such spaces. Annex A provides a steady state method to calculate the temperature in unheated spaces adjacent to heated buildings.

Diese Norm legt ein Verfahren und Hinweise zur vereinfachten Berechnung des spezifischen Transmissionswärmeverlustkoeffizienten von beheizten Räumen fest. Für diese Norm wird im Gebäude eine einheitliche Temperatur angenommen. Spezifische Lüftungswärmeverluste liegen nicht im Anwendungsbereich dieser Norm. Um jedoch den Transmissionswärmeverlustkoeffizienten für unbeheizte Räume zu berechnen gibt diese Norm übliche Luftwechsel solcher Räume an. Anhang A enthält ein stationäres Verfahren zur Berechnung der Temperatur in unbeheizten Räumen, die an beheizte Räume angrenzen.

La présente norme établit une méthode et des conventions pour le calcul du coefficient de déperdition par transmission des bâtiments. Pour les besoins de la présente norme, l'espace chauffé est supposé isotherme. Les déperditions par ventilation sortent du domaine d'application de la présente norme. Toutefois, la présente norme donne des valeurs conventionnelles pour le taux de renouvellement d'air des espaces non chauffés, afin d'évaluer les déperditions par transmission au travers de ces espaces.
