This European Pre-standard gives guidances on the selection of plywood for use in the different hazard classes of biological attack as defined in EN 335-1. The guidance given takes into account the natural durability classification for solid timber (see EN 350-2) together with other factors specific for plywood. It does not consider durability against chemico-physical factors, such as weathering, nor does it consider the biological durability of the adhesive.

Diese Europäische Vornorm gibt eine Anleitung für die Auswahlkriterien von Sperrholz bei der Verwendung in verschiedenen Gefährdungsklassen gegenüber biologischem Befall, die in EN 335-1 definiert sind. Die Anleitung berücksichtigt die natürliche Dauerhaftigkeit von Vollholz (siehe EN 350-2) zusammen mit anderen sperrholzspezifischen Eigenschaften. Nicht berücksichtigt wird die Dauerhaftigkeit gegenüber chemisch-physikalischen Einflüssen, wie z.B. Witterung. Auch die biologische Dauerhaftigkeit des Klebstoffes bleibt unberücksichtigt.

La présente prénorme européenne donne des indications pour le choix pour l'emploi du contreplaqué dans les différentes classes de risques d'attaques biologiques définies en EN 335-1. Les indications données prennent en compte la classification de la durabilité naturelle du bois massif (voir EN 350-2) ainsi que d'autres facteurs spécifiques au contreplaqué. Elle ne prend pas en compte la durabilité contre les facteurs physico-chimiques, tels que les intempéries ou la durabilité biologique de la colle.
