This Standard specifies methods to calculate basic whole house air flow rates for single family houses and individual apartments up to the size of approximately 1 000 m3, to be used for applications such as energy loss calculations, heat load calculations and indoor air quality evaluations. The same basic methods apply for these different applications, the input parameter values being selected according to the requirements of the specific application.

Die vorliegende Europäische Norm legt Verfahren zur Berechnung der Grundwerte von Gesamt-gebäude-Luftvolumenströmen für Einfamilienhäuser und Einzelwohnungen bis zu einer Größe von etwa 1000 m3 fest. Diese Europäische Norm kann beispielsweise bei Energieverlustberechnungen, Heizlast-berechnungen und der Bewertung der Innenluftqualität angewendet werden.
Für die unterschiedlichen Anwendungen gelten dieselben Grundverfahren, wobei die Eingabeparameter nach den Anforderungen der jeweiligen Anwendung auszuwählen sind.
Diese Norm behandelt freie Lüftungs-, maschinelle Entlüftungs- sowie kombinierte Be- und Entlüftungs-anlagen. Volumenströme infolge des Öffnens von Fenstern werden ebenfalls berücksichtigt, jedoch nur als einseitige Wirkung (d. h. keine Querlüftung) behandelt. Daher ist die Anwendung hauptsächlich auf die Heizperiode beschränkt.

La présente norme spécifie, pour des maisons d'habitation et des appartements individuels jusqu'à une taille d'environ 1000 m3, les méthodes de calcul de base des débits d'air globaux pour le logement, à utiliser pour des applications telles que des calculs de perte d'énergie, de charge de chauffage et des évaluations de la qualité de l'air intérieur. Les mêmes méthodes de base s'appliquent à ces différentes applications, les valeurs des paramètres d'entrée étant choisies en fonction des besoins de l'application spécifique.
