This part of EN 12020 (00132080) specifies the technical conditions for inspection and delivery of alloys EN AW-6060 and EN AW-6063 extruded, precision profiles manufactured with and without a thermal barrier (figures 1 and 2 respectively). This applies to as extruded products supplied without further surface treatment.

Dieser Teil von EN 12020 legt die technischen Lieferbedingungen für stranggepreßte Präzisionsprofile aus den Legierungen EN AW-6060 und EN AW-6063, die mit oder ohne Wärmebarriere (siehe Bild 1 bzw. Bild 2) hergestellt werden, fest. Sie gilt für stranggepreßte Erzeugnisse, die ohne weitere Oberflächenbehandlung geliefert werden.

La présente partie de la norme EN 12020 spécifie les conditions techniques de contrôle et de livraison des alliages EN AW-6060 et EN AW-6063 filés, des profilés de précision fabriqués avec ou sans barrière thermique (voir Figures 1 et 2). Elle s'applique aux produits filés fournis sans traitement de surface spécifique. Les profilés de précision couverts dans cette norme se distinguent des produits filés pour application générale couverts dans l'EN 755-9 par les caractéristiques suivantes :
- ils sont principalement destinés aux applications architecturales ;
- ils répondent à des exigences plus rigoureuses en ce qui concerne l'état de surface des surfaces visibles ;
- le diamètre maximum du cercle circonscrit CD est de 300 mm ;
- ils sont fabriqués avec des tolérances sur dimensions et forme plus serrées.
Dans le cas de profilés, lesquels qui, en raison de la complexité de leurs dessins, sont difficiles à spécifier et à fabriquer, des accords spéciaux entre acheteur et fabriquant sont à rechercher.
NOTE 1 Le matériau de la barrière thermique n'est pas couvert par cette norme.
NOTE 2 Des produits cités dans la présente norme peuvent faire l'objet de brevet ou de demandes de brevets, et leur inclusion dans la présente norme ne doit en aucune façon considérée comme l'attribution d'une licence au regard des droits attachés à de tels brevets.
Le CEN/TC 132 confirme que dans le cas où le détenteur d'un brevet refuse de céder des licences sur les produits normalisés sous des conditions raisonnables et non discriminatoires, alors ce produit serait éliminé de la norme correspondante.

Foreword
This European Standard has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 132 "Aluminium and aluminium
alloys", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or
by endorsement, at the latest by October 2001, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest
by October 2001.
Within its programme of work, Technical Committee CEN/TC 132 entrusted CEN/TC 132/WG5 "Extruded and
drawn products" to prepare the following standard :

6063 - Part 1 : Technical conditions for inspection and delivery
This standard is part of a set of two standards. The other standard deals with:

Annex A is normative.

1 Scope
This part of EN 12020 specifies technical conditions for inspection and delivery of alloys EN AW-6060 and
EN AW-6063 extruded precision profiles manufactured with and without a thermal barrier (see Figures 1 and 2). It
applies to as extruded products supplied without further surface treatment. Precision profiles covered in this
standard are distinguished from extruded profiles for general applications covered in
EN 755-9 by the following characteristics:
they are mainly for architectural applications ;
they meet more stringent requirements regarding the surface condition of visible surfaces ;
the maximum diameter of the circumscribing circle CD is 300 mm ;
they are made to closer tolerances on dimensions and form.
In the case of profiles which, due to the complexity of their design are difficult to manufacture and specify, then
special agreements between purchaser and manufacturer may need to be reached.
NOTE 1 The thermal barrier material is not covered by this standard.
NOTE 2 Some of the products listed in the present standard can be subject to patent or patent applications, and their listing
herein does not in any way imply the granting of a license under such patent right.
CEN/TC 132 affirms it is its policy that in the case when a patentee refuses to grant licenses on standardized standards
products under reasonable and not discriminatory conditions then this product shall be removed from the corresponding
standard.
