Safety of children's clothing - Cords and drawstrings on children's clothing - Specifications
This European Standard specifies requirements for cords and drawstrings on children's clothing, including disguise costumes and ski apparel, up to the age of 14 years.
Within the scope of this European Standard, it is not possible to cover all potential hazards that may create an unsafe garment.
Conversely, identifiable specific hazards in certain styles/design of garment might not present a risk for certain age groups.
It is recommended that an individual risk assessment be carried out on any garment in order to ensure that it does not present a hazard to the wearer
This European Standard does not apply to the following (see Annex C for rationale):
a) child use and care articles, for example bibs, nappies and soother holders;
b) shoes, boots and similar footwear;
c) gloves, hats, bonnets and scarves;
d) neckties designed to be worn with a shirt or blouse;
e) belts, with the exception of tied belts which are within scope;
f) braces;
g) religious clothing;
h) celebratory clothing such as that worn at civil or religious ceremonies, national or regional festivals provided this is worn for limited periods and under supervision;
i) specialist sportswear and activity wear generally worn for limited periods and under supervision, for example rugby shorts, wet suits, and dancewear, except where those garments are commonly worn as day wear or night wear;
j) theatrical costumes used for theatrical performances;
k) aprons intended to be worn over day wear, for limited periods and under supervision, to protect clothing from soiling during activities such as painting, cooking, or during meal times;
l) bags and purses.

Diese Europäische Norm legt Anforderungen an Kordeln und Zugbänder an Kinderbekleidung, einschließlich Karnevals- und Rollenkostümen sowie Skibekleidung für Kinder bis zum Alter von 14 Jahren fest.
Innerhalb des Anwendungsbereiches dieser Europäischen Norm ist es nicht möglich, alle potenziellen Gefahren abzudecken, die eine unsichere Bekleidung verursachen können.
Umgekehrt dürfen erkennbare spezielle Gefährdungen durch bestimmte Stile/Designs der Bekleidung kein Risiko für bestimmte Altersgruppen darstellen.
Es wird empfohlen, eine individuelle Risikobeurteilung an jedem Kleidungsstück durchzuführen, um sicherzustellen, dass dieses keine Gefährdung für den Träger darstellt.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für Folgendes (Begründung, siehe Anhang C):
a) Artikel für Säuglinge und Kleinkinder, wie z. B. Lätzchen, Windeln und Schnullerhalter;
b) Schuhe, Stiefel und ähnliche Schuhwaren;
c) Handschuhe, Hüte, Mützen und Schals;
d) Krawatten/Fliegen/Halstücher, die mit einem Hemd oder einer Bluse zu tragen sind;
e) Gürtel, mit Ausnahme gebundener Gürtel, die Bestandteil des Anwendungsbereichs sind;
f) Hosenträger;
g) religiöse Bekleidung;
h) Festkleidung, wie sie auf zivilen oder religiösen Feiern, nationalen oder regionalen Festen getragen wird, unter der Voraussetzung, dass die Bekleidung für begrenzte Zeiträume und unter Aufsicht getragen wird;
i) spezielle Sport- und Freizeitbekleidung, die im Allgemeinen nur für begrenzte Zeiträume und unter Aufsicht getragen wird, wie z. B. Rugby-Shorts, Taucheranzüge und Tanzbekleidung, mit Ausnahme der Kleidungsstücke, die üblicherweise als Tages- oder Nachtbekleidung getragen werden;
j) Theaterkostüme, die für Aufführungen benutzt werden;
k) Schürzen, die über bestimmte Zeiträume und unter Aufsicht am Tag getragen werden, um die Kleidung bei Aktivitäten, wie malen, kochen oder während der Mahlzeiten, gegen ein Anschmutzen zu schützen;
l) Beutel und Täschchen.

La présente Norme européenne fixe des exigences concernant les cordons, coulissants ou non, de vêtements d’enfants, y compris les costumes de déguisement et les combinaisons de ski, jusqu’à l’âge de 14 ans.
Le domaine d’application de la présente Norme européenne ne peut pas englober la totalité des risques potentiels qui sont susceptibles de rendre un vêtement dangereux.
Inversement certains risques spécifiques identifiables sur certains styles/modèles de vêtements pourraient ne pas présenter de risque pour certains groupes d’âge.
Il est recommandé de soumettre chacun des vêtements à une analyse de risque pour s’assurer qu’il ne constitue pas un danger potentiel pour le porteur.
Cette Norme européenne ne s’applique pas aux articles suivants (voir l’Annexe C pour l’exposé des motifs) :
a) articles de puériculture, par exemple bavoirs, couches et attaches pour sucettes ;
b) chaussures, bottes et articles similaires ;
c) gants, chapeaux, bonnets et foulards ;
d) cravates destinées à être portées avec une chemise ou un chemisier ;
e) ceintures, à l’exception des ceintures à nouer qui entrent dans le domaine d’application ;
f) bretelles ;
g) vêtements religieux ;
h) vêtements de fête tels que ceux portés à l’occasion de cérémonies civiles ou religieuses ou bien lors de festivals régionaux ou nationaux, à condition qu’ils soient portés pendant une durée limitée et sous surveillance ;
i) vêtements conçus pour la pratique d’un sport et vêtements professionnels portés, en général, pendant des périodes limitées et sous surveillance, par exemple shorts de rugby, combinaisons de plongée et vêtements de danse, excepté lorsque ces vêtements sont portés couramment comme des tenues de jour ou de nuit ;
j) costumes de théâtre, utilisés lors de spectacles ;
k) tabliers destinés à être portés par dessus une tenue de jour pendant des périodes limitées et sous surveillance, pour éviter de salir les vêtements au cours d’activités telles que la peinture, la cuisine ou durant les repas ;
l) sacs à main et porte-monnaie.
Varnost otroških oblačil - Vrvice in vezalke na otroških oblačilih - Specifikacije
Ta evropski standard določa zahteve za vrvice in vezalke na otroških oblačilih, vključno s pustnimi in smučarskimi oblačili do starosti 14 let.
V okviru področja uporabe tega evropskega standarda ni mogoče zajeti vseh morebitnih nevarnosti, zaradi katerih je oblačilo lahko nevarno.
Nasprotno, nekatere posebne nevarnosti, ki se lahko določijo za nekatere sloge/oblikovanje oblačil, morda ne predstavljajo tveganja za določene starostne skupine.
Priporočljivo je, da se izvede posamezna ocena tveganja na vsakem oblačilu, tako da zagotovo ne predstavlja nevarnosti za uporabnika.
Ta evropski standard ne velja za naslednje (za pojasnilo glej dodatek C):
a) izdelke, ki jih uporabljamo za otroke in njihovo nego, kot so slinčki, plenice in držala za dude;
b) čevlje, škornje in podobna obuvala;
c) rokavice, kape, čepice in šale;
d) kravate, izdelane tako, da jih je treba nositi s srajco ali bluzo;

f) naramnice;
g) verska oblačila;
h) slavnostna oblačila, ki se nosijo pri civilnih ali verskih obredih, nacionalnih ali regionalnih festivalih pod pogojem, da se nosijo omejen čas in pod nadzorom;
i) posebno športno opremo in opremo za prosti čas, ki se običajno nosi omejen čas in pod nadzorom, na primer kratke hlače za rugby, neoprenske in plesne obleke, razen če se ta oblačila običajno nosijo kot dnevna ali večerna oblačila;
j) gledališke kostume za gledališke predstave;

3.4 has been revised. Examination of garments shows that those clothes that are worn from waist down can be defined as those that fit closely to the body to be functional. Strings at the waist on these garments when closed to the body will be low hazard, and some requirements have been relaxed. Other garments can be more flowing, for example unbuttoned coats. In these garments, requirements have been strengthened. d) 3.7 sleeves: The original text assumed strings protruded from lower hems only, and that sleeves were long or short. This did not reflect fashion. Clauses have been revised to consider strings other than at hems, and all lengths of sleeve e) Annex B: new paragraph to clarify that anthropometric data listed is that used to define children’s sizes in EN 14682:2014, where the tallest children in Europe were considered. f) Annex C: enhanced to provide rationale for exclusions from scope, and rationale for requirements for lengths of drawstrings and cords.
