Diese Norm legt die Grenzen der chemischen Zusammensetzung von Aluminiumlegierungen für Gußstücke und die mechanischen Eigenschaften von getrennt gegossenen Probestäben für diese Legierungen fest. Der Anhang A "Vergleich der Gießcharakteristika, der mechanischen und anderen Eigenschaften" ist ausschließlich zur Information beigefügt, um die Auswahl von Legierungen je nach dem geplanten, spezifischen Gebrauch zu erleichtern.

La présente norme spécifie les teneurs limites de la composition chimique des alliages d'aluminium pour pièces moulées ainsi que les caractéristiques mécaniques des éprouvettes coulées à part pour ces alliages. L'annexe A "Comparaison des caractéristiques mécaniques et autres propriétés des pièces moulées" n'est incluse qu'à titre indicatif seulement pour faciliter le choix des alliages en fonction de l'utilisation spécifique envisagée ou du procédé.
