This European Standard specifies a method for determining the ability of metallic tubes of circular cross section to undergo plastic deformation by drift expansion. It is intended that the Standard should be applicable to tubes having an outside diameter not greater than 150mm (100mm for light metals) and thickness not greater than 10mm. The range of the outside diameter or thickness for which this European Standard is applicable may be more exactly specified in the relevant Product Standard.

In dieser Europäischen Norm ist ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Aufweitfähigkeit festgelegt für Rohre aus metallischen Werkstoffen mit kreisförmingem Querschnitt. Diese Norm sollte für Rohre mit einem Aussendurchmesser nicht grösser als 10mm angewendet werden. Der Bereich des Aussendruckmessers oder der Wanddicke, für den diese Europäische Norm zutrifft, kann genauer in der entsprechenden Erzeugnisnorm festgelegt sein.

Les gammes de diamètres extérieurs ou d'épaisseurs auxquelles s'applique la présente norme européenne peuvent être définies de façon plus ecplicite dans la norme de produit concernée.
