Footwear manufacturing machines - Lasting machines - Safety requirements

1.1   This standard is applicable to lasting machines used in the footwear manufacturing industry, namely:
-   Adhesive fore part lasting machines (see figure 1),
-   Hand operated adhesive side lasting machines (see figure 3 A),
-   Adhesive seat lasting machines (see figure 2),
-   Adhesive seat and side lasting machines (see figure 2),
-   Hand operated tack/staple side lasting machines (see figure 3B),
-   Tack seat lasting machines (see figure 2),
-   Tack seat and side thermocement lasting machines (see figure 2),
-   Tack heel seat and thermocent side lasting machines (see figure 2),
-   Tack heel seat and thermocent + tack side lasting machines (see figure 2).
1.2   This standard does not apply to lasting machines which process granular thermocement.
1.3   This standard specifies requirements for safe design, construction and use of the machines. No specific requirements are included for transport, commissioning and decommissioning. It takes account of intended use, foreseeable misuse, component and system failure.
1.4   This standard covers all hazards relevant to the footwear manufacturing industry. The use of machines within the scope of this standard in different industries may give rise to hazards which were not taken into account at the time of its preparation.
1.5   This document is not applicable to lasting machines which are manufactured before the date of its publication as EN.

1.2 Diese Norm gilt nicht für Zwickmaschinen, die Thermozement-Granulat verarbeiten.
1.3 Diese Norm legt Anforderungen für eine sicherheitsgerechte Konstruktion unter Berücksichtigung des
Aufbaues und des Betriebes fest. Sie enthält keine Anforderungen für die Bereitstellung und das Entfernen
von Transporthilfen. Sie berücksichtigt bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung, vorhersehbaren Missbrauch und
das Bauteil- und Systemversagen.
1.4 Diese Norm berücksichtigt alle für die Schuhindustrie wichtigen Gefährdungen. Der Einsatz von
Maschinen in anderen Industrien, als im Anwendungsbereich dieser Norm vorgesehen, kann zu
Gefährdungen führen, die bei ihrer Erstellung nicht berücksichtigt wurden.

1.1 La présente norme s'applique aux machines à monter utilisées dans la fabrication des chaussures, à savoir :

machines à monter l'emboîtage et les flancs (voir Figure 2) ;
machines manuelles à monter les flancs par semences/agrafes (voir Figure 3B) ;
machines à monter l'emboîtage par semences (voir Figure 2) ;
machines à monter l'emboîtage et les flancs par semences (voir Figure 2) ;
machines à monter l'emboîtage par semences et les flancs par adhésif thermofusible (voir Figure 2) ;
machines à monter l'emboîtage par semences et les flancs par semences et adhésif thermofusible (voir Figure 2).
1.2 La présente norme ne s'applique pas aux machines à monter avec adhésif granulaire thermofusible.
1.3 La présente norme spécifie les prescriptions requises pour une conception sûre des machines en prenant en
compte sa construction et son utilisation. Il n'est inclus aucune exigence spécifique concernant le transport, la mise
en service et hors service.
Elle prend en considération l'utilisation visée, les mauvais usages prévisibles, les défaillances des composants et
du système.
1.4 La présente norme couvre tous les risques relatifs aux industries de fabrication de chaussures. L'utilisation des
machines couvertes par la présente norme dans d'autres industries peut causer des risques qui n'ont pas été pris en
compte lors de son élaboration.

covered are indicated in the scope of this document.

1 Scope
1.1 This standard is applicable to lasting machines used in the footwear manufacturing industry, namely:
