This Technical Specification describes a method for determining the skid resistance of a surface by measurement of the longitudinal friction coefficient LFCN.
The method provides a measure of the wet skid resistance properties of a bound surface by measurement of the longitudinal friction coefficient using a continuous reading braked wheel fixed-slip device.
The test tyre is dragged, parallel to the direction of motion and perpendicular to a pre-wetted pavement under controlled speed conditions.
This document covers the operation of the BV11 and SAAB Friction Tester (SFT) with a fixed slip ratio of 17 %.
Machines conforming to the general characteristics of the BV11 and SAAB Friction Tester and with the specific provisions of this document may also be used for the tests.

Dieses Dokument beschreibt ein Verfahren für die Bestimmung der Griffigkeit von Fahrbahndecken durch Messung des Reibungskoeffizienten in Längsrichtung LFCN.
Das Verfahren liefert ein Maß für die Nassgriffigkeitseigenschaften einer gebundenen Oberfläche durch Messung des Reibungskoeffizienten in Längsrichtung mit Hilfe eines beständig messenden Messfahrzeugs mit gebremstem Rad und festem Schlupf.
Der Messreifen wird mit geregelter Geschwindigkeit über eine zuvor angenässte Fahrbahndecke gezogen, wobei er parallel zur Bewegungsrichtung und rechtwinklig zur Fahrbahn läuft.
Dieses Dokument behandelt den Betrieb des BV 11 Geräts und des SAAB Reibungsmessgeräts (SFT) mit einem festen Schlupfverhältnis von 17 %.
Für diese Prüfungen darf auch ein Messgerät verwendet werden, das den allgemeinen Merkmalen des BV 11 Geräts und des SAAB Reibungsmessgeräts und den speziellen Vorgaben dieses Dokuments entspricht.

La présente Spécification technique décrit une méthode permettant de déterminer l'adhérence d'une surface par
mesure du coefficient de frottement longitudinal LFCN.
La méthode permet de mesurer les propriétés d'adhérence sur chaussée mouillée d'une couche de roulement, en
déterminant le coefficient de frottement longitudinal à l'aide d'un appareil de mesure en continu dont le taux de
glissement de la roue freinée est constant.
Le pneumatique d'essai est traîné dans le sens du déplacement et perpendiculairement à la chaussée préalablement
mouillée, dans des conditions de vitesse contrôlées.
Le présent document couvre l'utilisation du dispositif BV11 et du dispositif d'essai de frottement SAAB (SFT) avec un
taux de glissement constant de 17 %.
Pour les essais, il est également possible d'utiliser des appareils conformes aux caractéristiques générales du
dispositif BV11 et du dispositif d'essai de frottement SAAB et aux dispositions particulières de la présente
Spécification technique.

1 Scope
This Technical Specification describes a method for determining the skid resistance of a surface by
measurement of the longitudinal friction coefficient LFCN.
