This European Standard applies to heat meters, that is to instruments intended for measuring the heat which, in a heat-exchange circuit, is absorbed or given up by a liquid called the heat-conveying liquid. The heat meter indicates heat quantity in legal units. Electricity safety requirements are not covered by this standard. Meters with surface mounted temperature sensors are not yet included in this standard.
Wärmezähler - Teil 5: Ersteichung
Diese Europäische Norm gilt für Wärmezähler, d.h. für Geräte, die in einem Wärmetauscher-Kreislauf mittels eines Wärmeträgermediums ausgetauschte thermische Energie zu messen. Die Wärmemenge wird in gesetzlichen Einheiten angezeigt. Sicherheitsvorschriften, die allgemein für elektrische Geräte gelten, werden in dieser Norm nicht behandelt. Wärmezähler mit Oberflächen-Temperaturfühlern werden in dieser Norm noch nicht behandelt.

La présente norme européenne s'applique aux compteurs d'énergie thermique, c'est-à-dire aux instruments destinés à mesurer l'énergie thermique qui, dans un circuit d'échange thermique, est absorbée ou cédée par un liquide caloporteur. Le compteur indique la quantité d'énergie thermique en unités de mesure légales. Cette norme ne traite pas des prescriptions de sûreté électrique. Les compteurs équipés de sondes montées en surface ne figurent pas dans cette norme.
