Diese europäische Norm ist auf alle Arten von Schutzhandschuhen anzuwenden im Hinblick auf physikalische und mechanische Beanspruchungen verursacht durch Antrieb, Schnitt, Durchstich, Weiterreissen, Fallschnitt. Schutzhandschuhe gegen Vibration gehören nicht zu dieser Norm. Zusätzlich wurde ein Prüfverfahren mit Einteilung in Klassen für die spezifische elektrische Leitfähigkeit aufgenommen, um elektrische Entladungen mit zu berücksichtigen.

Cette norme européenne s'applique à tous les types de gants de protection en ce qui concerne les agressions physiques et mécaniques par abrasion, coupure par tranchage, perforation, déchirure, coupure par impact. Les gants anti-vibration ne sont pas concernés par cette norme. De plus, une méthode de mesure avec classification de la conductibilité électrique a été incluse pour tenir compte des risques de décharge électrique.
