This European standard specifies a method for the determination of the curative action of a wood preservative against infestation by Anobium punctatum (De Geer) when the product is applied as a surfce treatment to wood. This method is applicable to any surface applied treatmetn that is intended to prevent emergence of adult beetles but not intended to kill larvae in infested timber.

Diese Norm legt ein Verfahren fest zum Bestimmen der bekämpfenden Wirkung oder die Grenze der Wirksamkeit eines Holzschutzmittels gegen Befall durch Anobium punctatum (De Geer), bei dem das Schutzmittel durch Behandlung seiner Oberfläche auf das Holz aufgebracht wird. Dieses Verfahren ist anwendbar für jede Oberflächenbehandlung, die den Käferschlupf verhindern soll, aber nicht um die Larven in befallenem Holz zu bekämpfen.
