This European Standard specifies the determination of formaldehyde in aqueous extracts prepared from paper and board intended to come into contact with foodstuffs. The limit of determination is 0,01 mg/dm2 or 1 mg/kg paper or board. For contact at room temperature the cold water extract is applied. For paper and board materials intended for boiling and hot filtering purposes the hot water extract is applied.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Bestimmung von Formaldehyd im Wasserextrakt von Papier, Karton und Pappe fest, welche für den Kontakt mit Lebensmitteln vorgesehen sind. Die Nachweisgrenze liegt bei 0,01 mg/dm2 oder 1 mg/kg Papier, Karton oder Pappe. Für Kontakt bei Raumtemperatur wird der Kaltwasserextrakt angewendet. Für Papier, Karton und Pappe, vorgesehen für Kochzwecke und für Heißfiltrationszwecke, wird der Heißwasserextrakt angewendet.

La présente norme européenne spécifie une méthode pour la détermination du formaldéhyde dans un extrait aqueux préparé à partir de papier et de carton destiné à entrer en contact avec des denrées alimentaires. La limite de détermination est 0,01 mg/dm2 ou 1 mg/kg de papier ou de carton. Pour des contacts à température ambiante, on applique la méthode d'extraction à froid. Pour des papiers et cartons destinés à l'ébullition et à la filtration à chaud, on applique la méthode d'extraction à chaud.
