ECISS/TC 29/SC 6 - Tube threads and service tubes
Standardization of technical delivery conditions for thread for tubular application and service pipes.
Tube threads and service tubes
Standardization of technical delivery conditions for thread for tubular application and service pipes.
General Information
This part of EN 10226 specifies a process using limit gauges, for the validation of taper internal and external threads and parallel internal threads on piping systems components and other products, the dimensions and tolerances of which are detailed in EN 10226-1 and prEN 10226-2.
The gauging system described may not be suitable, without special precautions, for gauging of threads on injection moulded plastic workpieces.
This part of EN 10226 does not cover completely all the requirements necessary for full control of thread quality and dimensions. Additional control of tools and equipment and visual inspection during production are required to ensure complete compliance with EN 10226-1 and prEN 10226-2, for example the length of useful thread on internally threaded workpieces should be checked by direct measurement.
Annex A gives a summary of the gauges included in this part of EN 10226, together with details of the thread elements controlled by each gauge and gauge identification numbers.
In the event of a dispute over compliance with the requirements of EN 10226-1 and prEN 10226-2, the gauges in this part of EN 10226 are to be considered as decisive for the thread elements which they control on the workpiece.

This document specifies the requirements for thread form, dimensions, tolerances and designation for jointing pipe threads, sizes 1/16 to 6 inclusive, for joints made pressure-tight by the mating of the threads. These threads are taper external and taper internal and are intended for use with pipes suitable for threading and for valves, fittings or other pipeline equipment interconnected by threaded joints.
An appropriate thread sealant or jointing compound should be used on the thread to ensure pressure-tight joints.
NOTE 1 Threaded joints using taper external threads and parallel internal threads are detailed in EN 10226-1.
NOTE 2 The requirements for taper external threads are identical in EN 10226-1 and EN 10226-2.
NOTE 3 For pipe threads where pressure-tight joints are not made on the threads see EN ISO 228-1.
NOTE 4 EN 10226-3 gives details of recommended gauging systems for the verification of thread dimensions and thread form.

This part of EN 10226 specifies the requirements for thread form, dimensions, tolerances and designation for jointing pipe threads, sizes 1/16 to 6 inclusive, for joints made pressure tight by the mating of the threads. These threads are taper external (designated by R) and parallel internal (designated by Rp) and are intended for use with pipes suitable for threading and for valves, fittings or other pipeline equipments interconnected by threaded joints.

This second edition cancals and replaces the first edition (1980). Specifies the verification of cylindrical threads, the dimensions and tolerances of which are given in ISO 228-1. Since this 55o profile has different elements to be verified, it is necessary to provide for several GO and several NOT GO gouges.

This part of ISO 228 specifies the requirements for thread form, dimensions, tolerances and designation for
fastening pipe threads, thread sizes 1/16 to 6 inclusive. Both internal and external threads are parallel threads,
intended for the mechanical assembly of the component parts of fittings, cocks and valves, accessories, etc.
These threads are not suitable as jointing threads where a pressure-tight joint is made on the thread. If assemblies
with such threads must be made pressure-tight, this should be effected by compressing two tightening surfaces
outside the threads, and by interposing an appropriate seal.
NOTE 1 For pipe threads where pressure-tight joints are made on the threads, see ISO 7-1.
NOTE 2 ISO 228-2 gives details of methods for verification of fastening thread dimensions and form, and recommended
gauging systems.

This European Standard specifies the requirements for non-alloy steel tubes for use with EN 74 couplers in the construction of falsework and working scaffolds. It includes detailed requirements for marking to aid long term identification, for protective coating by reference to European and International Standards, and for inspection and testing.
NOTE 1: Tubes to this European Standard, which have a specified outside diameter of 48,3 mm and specified thickness of 3,2 mm or 4,0 mm, may also be used in conjunction with other sizes and grades of steel tubes for applications such as prefabricated scaffolds.
NOTE 2: The use of these tubes should be in accordance with appropriate International and national requirements, for example prEN 12811 and prEN 12812.

This European Standard specifies the requirements for circular non-alloy steel tubes suitable for welding and threading and provides a number of options for the finish of tube ends and coatings. This European Standard covers tubes of specified outside diameter 10,2 mm to 165,1 mm (thread size 1/8 to 6) in two series, medium and heavy, and three types of designated thicknesses.
NOTE Tubes manufactured according to this European Standard can be used for the conveyance of fluids as well as for other applications.
