This standard specifies the performance of PM10 sampling instruments in order to harmonize the monitoring within the framework of the European Union Council Directive 96/62/EC (2) on ambient air quality assessment and management, and the first daughter directive. In the daughter directive, by convention the ISO thoracic sampling convention has been assimilated to the PM10 fraction (see annex A; (3)).

Diese Norm legt die Leistungsmerkmale von PM10-Probenahmegeräten fest, um die meßtechnische Überwachung im Rahmen der Richtlinie 96/62/EC des Rates der Europäischen Union über die Beurteilung und Kontrolle der Luftqualität (2) sowie der ersten Tochterrichtlinie zu vereinheitlichen. In der Tochterrichtlinie werden aufgrund einer Vereinbarung die Probenahme-Konvention für die thorakale Fraktion nach ISO und die PM10-Fraktion (siehe Anhang A; (3))im gleichen Sinne verwendet.

La présente norme spécifie les performances des instruments d'échantillonnage de la fraction MP10 pour harmoniser la surveillance selon la directive du Conseil de l'Union Européenne 96/62/CE (2) relative à l'évaluation et à la gestion de la qualité de l'air et selon la directive fille. Dans la directive fille, par convention, la convention d'échantillonnage thoracique de l'ISO a été assimilée à la fraction MP10 (voir annexe A (3)).
