This document specifies a method suitable for the production control or product development purposes for assessing the heat release rate of essentially flat products exposed in the horizontal orientation to controlled levels of radiant heating with an external igniter. The heat release rate is determined by the use of a thermopile instead of the more accurate oxygen consumption techniques. The time to ignition and sustained flaming are also measured in this test. The mass loss of the test specimen can also be measured optionally.

Dieses Dokument legt ein Verfahren fest, das im Rahmen der Produktionskontrolle oder der Produktentwicklung zur Beurteilung der Wärmefreisetzungsrate von im Wesentlichen ebenen Produkten geeignet ist, die in horizontaler Ausrichtung kontrollierten Stufen einer Erhitzung durch Strahlung unter Anwendung einer externen Zündvorrichtung ausgesetzt werden. Bei dieser Prüfung wird die Wärmefreisetzungsrate mit Hilfe einer Thermosäule bestimmt und nicht über den Sauerstoffverbrauch, der bei genauer arbeitenden Verfahren ausgewertet wird. Bei dieser Prüfung wird auch die Zeit gemessen, bis eine Entzündung und andauerndes Brennen mit Flamme erfolgen. Wahlweise kann auch der Massenverlust des Probekörpers gemessen werden.

Le présent document spécifie une méthode adaptée au contrôle de la production ou au développement de produit permettant l’évaluation du débit calorifique de produits essentiellement plats exposés suivant une orientation horizontale à des niveaux contrôlés de chaleur rayonnante, avec un dispositif d’allumage externe. Le débit calorifique est déterminé au moyen d’une thermopile plutôt qu’à l’aide de techniques plus précises de consommation d’oxygène. Le temps d’allumage et la flamme persistante sont aussi mesurés pendant cet essai. La perte de masse de l’éprouvette peut aussi être mesurée de manière facultative.

Ta dokument določa metodo, primerno za nadzor proizvodnje ali razvoj izdelkov za ocenjevanje hitrosti sproščanja toplote za izdelke, ki so v večji meri ploščati in v vodoravnem položaju izpostavljeni radiacijskemu segrevanju z zunanjo vžigalno napravo. Hitrost sproščanja toplote se določi z uporabo termoelektrične baterije namesto natančnejših tehnik porabe kisika. Prav tako se pri tem preskusu izmerita čas do vžiga in gorenje s plamenom. Izbirno se lahko izmeri tudi izguba mase preskušanca.
