This document (EN ISO 11378-2:2026) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 219 "Floor
coverings" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 134 “Resilient, textile, laminate and
modular mechanical locked floor coverings” the secretariat of which is held by NBN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by July 2026, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by July 2026.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 11378-2:2001.

This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (ISO 11378-2:2001), which has been technically
revised. It also incorporates the Amendment ISO 11378-2:2001/Amd 1:2017.
The main changes are as follows:
— the standard soil compounds have been revised;
— the former Annex B and Annex D have been deleted.

Drum test
1 Scope
This document specifies the test method for assessing the propensity of textile floor coverings to soiling in
the absence of abrasive wear and texture changes using a standard artificial soil composition.
This document applies to the testing of unused textile floor coverings of all types.
This document can also be extended to assess the effects of fibre finishes, cleaning chemicals and cleaning
equipment (see Annex A).
