Avant-propos
L’ISO (Organisation internationale de normalisation) est une fédération mondiale d’organismes nationaux
de normalisation (comités membres de l’ISO). L’élaboration des Normes internationales est en général
confiée aux comités techniques de l’ISO. Chaque comité membre intéressé par une étude a le droit de faire
partie du comité technique créé à cet effet. Les organisations internationales, gouvernementales et non
gouvernementales, en liaison avec l’ISO participent également aux travaux. L’ISO collabore étroitement avec
la Commission électrotechnique internationale (IEC) en ce qui concerne la normalisation électrotechnique.
Les procédures utilisées pour élaborer le présent document et celles destinées à sa mise à jour sont
décrites dans les Directives ISO/IEC, Partie 1. Il convient, en particulier, de prendre note des différents
critères d’approbation requis pour les différents types de documents ISO. Le présent document
a été rédigé conformément aux règles de rédaction données dans les Directives ISO/IEC, Partie 2
(voir www.iso.org/directives).

Le présent document a été élaboré par le Comité technique ISO/TC 135, Essais non destructifs, Sous-comité
SC 5, Sources de rayonnement, en collaboration avec le Comité technique CEN/TC 138, Essais non destructifs,
du Comité européen de normalisation (CEN) conformément à l’Accord de coopération technique entre l’ISO
et le CEN (Accord de Vienne).
Cette deuxième édition annule et remplace la première édition (ISO 14096-2:2005), qui a fait l’objet d’une
révision technique.
Les principales modifications sont les suivantes:
— mise à jour des termes 3.4 et 3.5 et suppression des définitions des termes “fréquence spatiale” et
“fonction de transfert de modulation”;
— au paragraphe 3.4, ajout de la définition du terme “résolution spatiale de base”;
— mise à jour des valeurs dans Tableau 1, Tableau 2 et Tableau 3;
— révision éditoriale.

Introduction
Les systèmes de numérisation de films radiographiques sont utilisés dans le cadre des examens industriels
au moyen de rayons X et gamma. Pour pouvoir être appliquées aux procédés modernes d’analyse, de
transmission et de stockage d’informations sur support informatique, il convient que les informations
contenues dans un film radiographique soient converties en données numériques (numérisation). Le présent
document spécifie les exigences minimales pour garantir que les informations pertinentes pour l'évaluation
des données numériques sont conservées pendant le processus de numérisation des films. Pour l'application
du présent document, l'ISO 14096-1 fournit des définitions et des modes opératoires de mesurage.

1 Domaine d’application
Le présent document spécifie trois classes de qualité de numérisation de film, constituant les exigences
des essais non destructifs. L'utilisateur spécifie l'une de ces classes de qualité pour la tâche respective de
numérisation du film. Les paramètres de numérisation dépendent de l’énergie de rayonnement, de l’épaisseur
de matériau traversée et du niveau de qualité du film radiographique d’origine. Le présent document ne
s’adresse pas au traitement du signal, ni à l’affichage et au stockage des données numérisées.
Pour l'application du présent document, l'ISO 14096-1 fournit des définitions et des modes opératoires de
mesurage.
