Additional requirements may also be necessary for fans intended to be used in vehicles and tropical countries - This standard does not apply to safety requirements for fans designed exclusively for industrial purposes, fans intended to be used in locations where special conditions prevail, such as the presence of corrosive or explosive atmospheres (dust, vapour or gas) - Fans used in air heaters, refrigerator equipment and air conditioners fans for cooling built into special heating appliances such as ranges, ovens, range hoods and microwave cooking appliances - Fans for use in ships and jet fans, which are covered in separate standards (under consideration) - Attention is drawn to the fact that in many countries additional requirements may be specified by the national authorities responsible for health and for the protection of labour - This standard is concerned with safety and does not cover performance requirements and the corresponding tests
