Ta mednarodni standard vsebuje strategije, tehnične zahteve in priporočene prakse za upravljanje normalnega staranja kablov, ki so pomembni za varnost v jedrskih elektrarnah. Glavne zahteve so predstavljene v osnovnem besedilu tega mednarodnega standarda, sledijo pa mu številne informativne priloge s primeri tehnik, postopkov in opreme za preskušanje kablov, ki se uporabljajo v jedrski industriji, da se zagotovi, da staranje kablov ne vpliva na varnost elektrarne.
Ta mednarodni standard zajema kable in njihove dodatke (npr. konektorje), nameščene v jedrskih elektrarnah (znotraj in zunaj nadzora). Podaja zahteve za preskušanje kablov med predvidenim vzdrževanjem, odpravljanjem napak, upravljanjem staranja in zagotavljanjem varnosti elektrarne. FOREWORD
1) The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising
all national electrotechnical committees (IEC National Committees). The object of IEC is to promote
international co-operation on all questions concerning standardization in the electrical and electronic fields. To
this end and in addition to other activities, IEC publishes International Standards, Technical Specifications,
Technical Reports, Publicly Available Specifications (PAS) and Guides (hereafter referred to as “IEC
