Non-destructive testing - Measurement and evaluation of the X-ray tube voltage - Part 1: Voltage divider method (ISO 16526-1:2011)

ISO 16526-1:2011 specifies a method for the direct and absolute measurement of the average high voltage of constant potential (DC) X-ray systems on the secondary side of the high voltage generator. The intention is to check the correspondence with the indicated high voltage value on the control unit of the X-ray system.
This method is applied to assure a reproducible operation of X-ray systems because the voltage influences particularly the penetration of materials and the contrast of X-ray images and also the requirements concerning the radiation protection.

Zerstörungsfreie Prüfung - Messung und Bewertung der Röntgenröhrenspannung - Teil 1: Spannungsteiler-Verfahren (ISO 16526-1:2011)

Dieser Teil von ISO 16526 legt ein Verfahren zur direkten und absoluten Messung des Mittelwertes der Hochspannung von Gleichspannungs Röntgensystemen auf der Sekundärseite des Hochspannungs-generators fest. Zweck ist es, die Übereinstimmung des Istwertes mit dem angezeigten Hochspannungswert am Steuergerät des Röntgensystems festzustellen.
Dieses Verfahren wird angewendet, um eine reproduzierbare Arbeit mit Röntgensystemen sicherzustellen, denn die Hochspannung beeinflusst insbesondere die Materialdurchdringung und den Kontrast von Röntgenbildern und darüber hinaus auch die Anforderungen für den Strahlenschutz.

L'ISO 16526-1:2011 décrit une méthode de mesurage direct et absolu de la haute tension moyenne des tubes radiogènes à tension constante (courant continu) du côté secondaire d'un générateur haute tension. Le but est de vérifier la correspondance avec la valeur de haute tension indiquée par l'unité de contrôle du tube radiogène.
Cette méthode est appliquée afin de garantir un fonctionnement reproductible des systèmes radiogènes, la tension étant un facteur particulièrement déterminant pour ce qui concerne la pénétration des matériaux et le contraste des images radiographiques ainsi que les prescriptions concernant la radioprotection.

The text of ISO 16526-1:2011 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 135 "Non-destructive
testing” of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as
which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by September 2020, and conflicting national standards
shall be withdrawn at the latest by September 2020.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
