This document specifies requirements for manufacturing components for temporary works equipment:
a) in a factory; or
b) on site where manufacturing in a factory is not practicable.
This document specifies requirements for manufacturing components for temporary works equipment in addition or contrary to the requirements of EN 1090-2, EN 1090-3, EN 1090-4, EN 1090-5 and EN 1995-1-1.
Furthermore, this document specifies requirements for manufacturing timber components, designed according to Eurocodes, to be used in temporary works equipment.
This document does not specify requirements for erection and transportation of temporary works equipment.
Temporäre Konstruktionen für Bauwerke - Ausführung - Anforderungen für die Herstellung
Dieses Dokument legt Anforderungen an die Herstellung von Bauteilen temporärer Konstruktionen für Bauwerke fest:
a) in einem Werk oder
b) vor Ort, wenn die Fertigung in einem Werk nicht praktikabel ist.
Dieses Dokument legt die besonderen Anforderungen an die Herstellung von Bauteilen für temporäre Konstruktionen für Bauwerke in Ergänzung zu oder abweichend von EN 1090 2, EN 1090 3, EN 1090 4 EN 1090 5 und EN 1995 1 1 fest.
Darüber hinaus legt dieses Dokument Anforderungen an die Herstellung von nach Eurocodes bemessenen Holzbauteilen für die Anwendung in temporären Konstruktionen für Bauwerke fest.
Dieses Dokument legt keine Anforderungen an den Transport und die Montage temporärer Konstruktionen für Bauwerke fest.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les exigences relatives à la fabrication des composants d’équipements temporaires de chantiers :
a) dans un site de production ; ou
b) sur le chantier, lorsque la fabrication sur le site de production est impossible.
La présente Norme européenne spécifie des exigences relatives à la fabrication des composants d’équipements temporaires de chantiers, qui sont complémentaires ou contraires aux exigences de la série des EN 1090-2, EN 1090-3, EN 1090-4 et de l’EN 1995-1-1.
En outre, la présente norme spécifie les exigences relatives à la fabrication de composants en bois, conçus conformément aux Eurocodes et devant être utilisés dans des équipements temporaires de chantiers.
La présente Norme européenne ne spécifie pas d’exigences relatives au montage et au transport des équipements temporaires de chantiers.

This document (EN 17293:2020) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 53 “Temporary
works equipment”, the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by September 2020, and conflicting national standards
shall be withdrawn at the latest by September 2020.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of

Introduction
Steel, aluminium and timber components for temporary works equipment are usually designed
according to Eurocodes.
NOTE Temporary works equipment are products covered by CEN/TC 53, for example, scaffolds, formworks,
falseworks.
Components designed specifically for temporary works equipment are not intended to be incorporated
in a permanent manner in construction works (buildings or civil engineering works). They are
manufactured in accordance with standards within the scope of CEN/TC 53 and not covered by the
Construction Products Regulation EU 305/2011. Therefore, EN 1090-1 is not applicable for these
components and they are not to be marked CE.
EN 1090-2, EN 1090-3, EN 1090-4, EN 1090-5 give requirements for execution of steel and aluminium
components. This document gives special requirements for manufacturing components for temporary
works equipment in addition or contrary to the requirements of EN 1090-2, EN 1090-3, EN 1090-4,
EN 1090-5, to ensure adequate levels of mechanical resistance and stability, serviceability and
durability.
EN 1995-1-1 gives requirements for execution of timber components. This document gives special
requirements for manufacturing glued timber joints in components of temporary works equipment.
This document presupposes that manufacturing is carried out with the necessary skill and adequate
equipment and resources to perform that manufacturing is in accordance with the requirements of this
document.
1 Scope
This document specifies requirements for manufacturing components for temporary works equipment:
a) in a factory; or
b) on site where manufacturing in a factory is not practicable.
This document specifies requirements for manufacturing components for temporary works equipment
in addition or contrary to the requirements of EN 1090-2, EN 1090-3, EN 1090-4, EN 1090-5 and
EN 1995-1-1.
Furthermore, this document specifies requirements for manufacturing timber components, designed
according to Eurocodes, to be used in temporary works equipment.
This document does not specify requirements for erection and transportation of temporary works
