Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Löslichkeit von Farbstoffen in organischen Lösemitteln fest. Sie ist anwendbar auf Farbstoffe, welche sich chemisch unter dem Einfluß des Lösemittels nicht verändern und unter den festgelegten Trocknungsbedingungen beständig und nicht flüchtig sind. Das Verfahren ist für Konzentrationen zwischen 1 g und 1000 g Farbstoff je Liter Lösemittel geeignet. Es ist nicht für die Bestimmung unlöslicher Anteile in einem Farbstoff geeignet.
