Describes a method for the determination of the mass per unit area of moulding compounds and preimpregnated sheets, tapes, fabrics and mats (prepregs). Applicable to prepregs irrespective of which reinforcement (aramid, carbon, glass, etc.) or which type of matrix (thermosetting or thermoplastic) is used.

Diese Internationale Norm enthält Anweisungen für die Bestimmung des Flächen-gewichtes von Harzmatten (SMC) und vorimprägnierten unidirektionalen Bahnen, Bändern, Geweben und Matten. Sofern in den jeweilligen Material-Spezifikationennichts Gegenteiliges vermerkt ist , gilt diese Norm für Prepregs unabhänig davon, welcher Typ der Verstärkung (Aramid, Carbon, Glas...) oder welcher Typ der Matrix (wärmenhärt oder thermoplastisch) verwendet ist.

La présente Norme internationale prescrit une méthode pour la détermination de la masse surfacique des mélanges à mouler en feuilles, des rubans et feuilles avec renforts unidirectionnels, des tissus et mats préimprégnés. Sauf indication contraire précisée dans la spécification du produit, la présente Norme internationale est applicable aux préimprégnés quelle que soit la nature du renfort (aramide, carbone, verre, etc.), quel que soit le système de résine thermodurcissable ou thermoplastique utilisé.
