This European Standard specifies the determination of mercury in two parts which use either tin(II)chloride or sodium tetrahydroborate as reducing agent. The methods described in clauses 4 and 5 are suitable for the determination of mercury in water, for example in ground, surface and waste waters, in the concentration range from 0,01 microgram/l to 1 microgram/l. Higher concentrations may be determined if the water sample is diluted.

Diese Europäische Norm legt in zwei Abschnitten Verfahren zur Bestimmung von Quecksilber fest, wobei entweder Zinn(II) chlorid oder Natriumtetrahydroborat als Reduktionsmittel verwendet werden. Die in den Abschnitten 4 und 5 beschriebenen Verfahren sind geeignet zur Bestimmung von Quecksilber in Wasser, z.B. in Grund-, Oberflächen- und Abwasser, im Konzentrationsbereich von 0,01 Mikrogram/l bis 1 Mikrogram/l. Höhere Konzentrationen lassen sich nach entsprechender Verdünnung der Wasserprobe bestimmen.

La présente norme européenne spécifie le dosage du mercure en deux parties, faisant intervenir le tétrahydroborate de sodium ou le chlorure stanneux comme agent réducteur. Les méthodes décrites aux articles 4 et 5 sont destinées au dosage du mercure dans l'eau, par exemple dans les eaux souterraines, eaux de surface et eaux usées, dans une gamme de concentrations allant de 0,01 microgramme/l à 1 microgramme/l. Des concentrations plus élevées peuvent être déterminées par dilution de l'échantillon d'eau.
