Note 1: The method is also applicable to the determination of the water-vapour transmission rate of coatings and coating systems intended for other substrates.

Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Verfahren zum Bestimmen der Wasserdampf-Diffusionsstromdichte von Beschichtungen, Beschichtungssystemen und ähnlichen Produkten für mineralische Untergründe und Beton im Außenbereich fest. Das Verfahren ist anwendbar auf Beschichtungen und Beschichtungssysteme auf porösen Untergründen wie Mauerstein, Beton und Putzen. Anmerkung 1: Das Verfahren ist auch für die Bestimmung der Wasserdampf-Diffusionsstromdichte (Permeabilität) von Beschichtungen und Beschichtungenssystemen für andere Untergrunde geeignet.
