Fibre ropes for general service - Determination of certain physical and mechanical properties
This European standard specifies, for ropes of different kinds, a method of determining each of the following characteristics: - net mass per metre; - lay; length; - plait pitch; - elongation; - tensile strength. The first three characteristics (net mass per metre, lay length and plait pitch) are measured with the rope under a specified tension called the reference tension.

Diese Europäische Norm legt für unterschiedliche Seilarten ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der folgenden Merkmale fest: - Nettomasse je Meter, - Schlaglänge; - Flechtlänge; - Dehnung; - Zugfestigkeit. Die ersten drei Merkmale (Nettomasse je Meter, Schlaglänge und Flechtlänge) werden gemessen, wenn das Seil einer festgelegten Spannung, bei der sogenannten Seil-Vorspannkraft, unterworfen ist.

La présente norme européenne prescrit, pour les cordages de différents types, une méthode pour la détermination de chacune des caractéristiques ci-après: - masse nette par mètre; - longueur du pas; - mesure du pas; - allongement; - résistance à la traction. Les trois premières caractéristiques obtenues (masse par mètre, longueur du pas et mesure du pas) sont celles du cordage préalablement soumis à une force de traction prescrite dite force de traction de mesure.
