This standard specifies requirements for classification of wire electrodes, wires, rods and weld deposits in the as-welded or stress relieved condition for gas shielded metal arc welding and gas tungsten arc welding of steels with a minimum yield strength higher than 500 N/mm2. The classification of the wire electrodes, wires and rods is based on their chemical composition. The classification of a weld deposit is based on tests of the all-weld metal in the as-welded or stress relieved condition.

Diese Norm legt Anforderungen für die Einteilung von Drahtelektroden, Drähten und Stäben und Schweißgut im Schweißzustand oder im spannungsarm geglühten Zustand für das Metall-Schutzgasschweißen und Wolfram-Inertgaschweißen von Stählen mit eienr Mindeststreckgrenze größer als 500 N/mm2 fest. Drahtelektroden, Drähte und Stäbe werden nach ihrer chemischen Zusammensetzung eingeteilt. Die Einteilung des Schweißgutes basiert auf Prüfungen des reinen Schweißgutes im Schweißzustand oder im spannungsarm geglühten Zustand. Eine Drahtelektrode kann mit verschiedenen Gasen geprüft und eingeteilt werden.

La présente norme spécifie les exigences pour la classification des fils-électrodes, fils et baguettes et du métal déposé à l'état brut de soudage ou à l'état détensionné, pour le soudage sous protection gazeuse avec électrode fusible et électrode de tungstène des aciers ayant une limite d'élasticité minimale supérieure à 500 N/mm2. La classification des fils-électrodes, fils et baguettes est établie sur leur composition chimique. La classification d'un métal déposé repose sur des essais du métal déposé hors dilution à l'état brut de soudage ou à l'état détensionné.
