This Standard specifies permitted deviations (due to variability in sawing and machining) from target sawn and prepared thicknesses, widths and lengths for structural timber of coniferous species and poplar (Populus sp.). It also specifies the moisture content to be used as a reference point for the measurement of sizes, and gives average values for changes in size due to changes in moisture content. It is applicable to sawn and prepared square-edged timber with paralell edges having sawn thicknesses or widths in the range 24 mm to 300 mm.

Diese Norm legt zulässige Abweichungen (zur Berücksichtigung von Unterschieden beim Sägen und bei der maschinellen Bearbeitung) für die Solldikken, -breiten und -längen von Bauholz aus Nadelhölzern und Pappelholz (Populus sp.) fest. Die Norm legt auch die Holzfeuchte fest, die als Bezugspunkt für die Ermittlung der Masse dient; es werden Mitterwerte für Massänderungen bei Abweichungen von der Holzfeuchte angegeben. Sie gilt für Schnittholz und zugerichtetes besäumtes Schnittdicken bzw. -breiten von 24 mm bis 300 mm.

Cette norme spécifie les écarts admissibles (dûs à l'imprécision du sciage et du façonnage) par rapport aux épaisseurs, largeurs et longueurs cibles des bois sciés et ébauchés résineux ou peupliers (Populus sp.). Elle spécifie également l'humidité à utiliser comme référence dans le mesurage des dimensions et donne les valeurs moyennes de variations dimensionnelles dues aux variations d'humidité. Elle s'applique aux bois avivés sciés et ébauchés ayant des épaisseurs et des largeurs comprises entre 24 mm et 300 mm.
