Precast concrete products - Beam-and-block floor systems - Part 2: Concrete blocks
This European Standard deals with the requirements and the basic performance criteria for blocks made in normal or lightweight aggregate concrete, used in conjunction with precast concrete beams in compliance with EN 15037-1, with or without cast-in-situ concrete for the construction of beam-and-block floor and roof systems.
Examples of typology of floor and roof systems are given in Annex B of EN 15037-1:2007.

Figure 7 — Nominal dimensions declared for blocks When relevant to the use for which the blocks are put on the market also the minimum thickness of webs and shells shall be declared. 4.3.2 Surface characteristics Blocks shall not have cracks or spalling which may be detrimental to their mechanical performance. For test method see 5.1.2. 4.3.3 Mechanical resistance 4.3.3.1 General 4.3.3.4 of EN 13369:2004 shall apply. The manufacturer shall declare which class of mechanical resistance the blocks fulfil. 4.3.3.2 Class R1 The following properties shall be verified: the resistance to concentrated loads, for each type of block (see a)); the characteristic longitudinal compressive strength, for resisting and semi-resisting blocks (see b)). a) Resistance to concentrated loads SIST EN 15037-2:2009
