Protective clothing for use in welding and allied processes - Part 1: General requirements
This part of this European Standard specifies test methods and performance requirements for protective clothing for operators engaged in welding and allied processes with comparable risks. This type of protective clothing is intended to protect the wearer against small splashes of molten metal, short contact time with flame, and ultraviolet radiation, and to be worn continuously for up to 8 h at ambient temperature. Additional requirements, which apply to certain specific types of welding operations, will be included in subsequent parts of this standard.

Dieser Teil dieser Norm legt Prüfverfahren und allgemeine Leistungsanforderungen fest für Personen beim Schweißen und bei verwandten Verfahren mit ähnlichen Gefährdungen. Diese Schutzkleidung muß den Träger gegen kleine Spritzer von geschmolzenem Metall, gegen kurzzeitigen Kontakt mit Flammen und gegen ultraviolette Strahlen schützen. Sie kann ohne Unterbrechung bei Umgebungstemperatur bis zu 8 h getragen werden.
