Standard Test Methods for Sampling and Chemical Analysis of Alkylbenzene Sulfonates

ABSTRACT
These test methods cover the sampling and chemical analysis of paste, powder, or liquid detergent alkylbenzene sulfonates. Reagent grade chemicals shall be used in all tests. The distillation method shall be preferred for moisture testing. Water by the Karl Fischer titration method shall be used when the amount of moisture is low. Total matter insoluble in alcohol, neutral oil content, chlorides calculated as sodium chloride, and pH shall also be tested.
