This document specifies the terms and definitions related to the structures for mine shafts, used throughout ISO 19426. Terms used in mining can vary from conventional engineering usage, and they vary quite considerably between different countries. ISO 1213-2:2016 defines terms commonly employed in the sampling, testing and analysis of solid mineral fuels. Alternative names are given for several terms. In some cases, however, the use of the alternative name is deprecated (as indicated). An alphabetical index, with numerical cross reference is provided.

ISO 18875:2015 provides terminology on geology and exploration, engineering construction, field development and production in coalbed methane industry. This International Standard does not contain surface gathering.

ISO 11323:2010 gives the definitions for terms used in TC 102 standards for sampling, sample preparation, moisture and particle size analysis and physical testing of iron ore and direct reduced iron. Some specific analytical terms used in the relevant International Standards are also included.
