Diving accessories for sports skin divers
Standardization of terms, functional and safety requirements of e.g. flippers, masks, snorkels, underwater depth gauges and devices for buoyancy control and rescue.
General Information
This European Standard applies to open heel fins for diving where the user is breathing underwater. The purpose of this European Standard is the specification of minimum safety requirements.

This European Standard specifies requirements and test methods for diving masks to protect the eyes of persons engaged in underwater activities where the user is breathing underwater.
Full face and oro-nasal masks are not covered by this European Standard.

This European Standard specifies safety requirements in order to increase the safety in the use of snorkels for swimmers and divers.
This European Standard is applicable to snorkels, which allow users to breathe at the water surface while floating with the face submerged. It covers snorkels used by swimmers and divers.
This European Standard is not applicable to combined face masks and snorkels, in which the snorkel tube opens into face mask.

This European Standard specifies functional, safety requirements and test methods applicable to inflatable type buoyancy compensating devices intended to provide divers with means for controlling buoyancy and if applicable, means for carrying the breathing equipment and/or carrying the weights.
This European Standard is not applicable to other kinds of personal equipment such as life preservers, personal flotation or rescue devices including combined buoyancy and rescue devices.

This standard specifies functional and safety requirements for depth gauges, depth gauge features of other instruments, and both depth and time measurement features of other instruments. This standard is not applicable to any information displayed to the user besides depth and time. Any information on decompression obligations displayed by equipment covered by this standard is explicitly excluded from its scope. This standard is applicable to instruments measuring water depthby the environmental pressure as used by divers. Requirements for time measurement are only applicable if intruments are automatically counting the dive time.
