CEN/TC 172/WG 6 is a Working Group within the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). It is named "Specifications for paper for copier machines" and is responsible for: To develop European Standards to define the requirements of copy paper for the dry toner imaging process. To develop European Standards for testing paper printability and printing quality using different printing process, e. g. Dry Toner Imaging and Ink Jet Printing. This committee has published 2 standards.
CEN/TC 172/WG 6 develops CEN standards. The scope of work includes: To develop European Standards to define the requirements of copy paper for the dry toner imaging process. To develop European Standards for testing paper printability and printing quality using different printing process, e. g. Dry Toner Imaging and Ink Jet Printing. Currently, there are 2 published standards from this working group.
The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) is a public standards organization that brings together the national standardization bodies of 34 European countries. CEN provides a platform for developing European Standards (ENs) and other technical documents in relation to various products, materials, services, and processes, supporting the European Single Market.
A Working Group in CEN is a specialized group responsible for developing standards or technical work within a defined scope. These bodies bring together international experts to create consensus-based standards that support global trade, safety, and interoperability.
This European Standard specifies the determination of the adhesion of dry toner on paper sheets, printed with imaging machines such as copiers and printers. The chosen measuring range allows discrimination of toner adhesion around the level found with many common paper and machine combinations. Since divers imaging processes give different toner adhesion, the described method at constant IGT speed is not advised to compare degree of toner adhesion between different types of machines.

This European Standard specifies the performance requirements for uncoated cut-size paper for dry toner imaging processes (i.e. copy paper), in 80 g/m2 and in A4 format based on EN 20216. Other grammages and sizes of the ISO-A series are covered by this European standard, as long as the requirements specified in this European standard are fulfilled.
