Domestic swimming pools - Water systems - Part 2: Circulation systems - Requirements and test methods

This European Standard specifies requirements and test methods for circulation systems and is applicable to equipment used in domestic swimming pools and designed for the circulation of water (introduction and/or extraction).
This standard applies for swimming pools as defined in EN 16582-1 and will be read in conjunction with it.
This standard does not apply to:
-   pools for public use covered by EN 15288-1;
-   spas for domestic or public use;
-   paddling pools according to EN 71-8;
-   pre filtration;
-   natural and nature like pools.
NOTE   For filtration systems see prEN 16713-1 and for treatment systems prEN 16713-3.

This document specifies the design and use requirements, the test methods and the scales of classification of the environmental performance when using a domestic swimming pool.
This document is applicable to outdoor pools, as defined in EN 16582 (all parts), intended to be permanently installed, and shall be red jointly with the latter.
This document allows the evaluation of the environmental performance efficiency of the use of domestic swimming pools.
NOTE   This document only covers the operational phase of the basin. All the other stages of the product life cycle, such as the extraction of resources, the acquisition of raw materials, production, distribution, use and end-of-life processing, including final disposal, are not covered by this document.

- paddling pools covered by EN 71 1 and EN 71 8, or their specific equipment;
- non-permanently installed pools covered by EN 16582 (all parts);
NOTE   This document does not cover non-permanently installed pools, because the absolute majority of this kind of pools are not equipped with any kind of heating, operated and used only in comparable short periods (range of 3-4 months), and the power consumption of pumps used are usually low (range of less than 1 kWh per day).
Nevertheless, to ensure a future objective comparison also with this kind of pools and other permanently installed pools, a calculation method for non-permanently installed pools will be established and considered in the next revision.

Leisure karts - Part 2: Safety requirements for karting facilities

This European Standard is applicable for karting facilities, according to 3.1, relating to karts that are not intended to be used on public roads.
This European Standard applies to:
 operation of leisure karts only;
 operation of karts propelled by a combustion engine, including LPG combustion engines;
 operation of karts used on indoor and outdoor tracks, permanent or temporary;
 operation of karts used on supervised tracks designed for leisure karting, with a permanent hard surface (such as asphalt, concrete, timber and steel);
 this part 2 does not consider the use of karts on ice or snow.
This European Standard does not apply to:
 operation of karts used for competition organised by and under the responsibility of Commission international of Karting (CIK) Federation International of Automobile (FIA) and/or ASN (a national automobile club or other national body recognised by the FIA as sole holder of sporting power in a country), ensuring through the granting of licenses by an ASN or one of its affiliated members as defined in the International Sporting code, compliance with the safety, sporting, disciplinary and technical rules of the CIK-FIA and/ or ASN;
 operation of karts designed exclusively for competition and toys;
 operation of cross country karts;
 operation of karts with two or more seats;
 operation of karts used on tracks not mentioned above (such as mud, earth);
 operation of karts used in amusement parks.
The requirements related to the hazards of electrical propulsion are not covered in this European Standard.
This European Standard specifies appropriate measures to eliminate or reduce the risks arising from significant hazards, hazardous situations and events (see Clause 6) during operation and maintenance of the karts, when carried out as intended by the manufacturer.
This document is the part 2 covering track design and operation referred to in the scope of part 1.
This document serves to provide guidance for circuit operators regarding the safe operation of karting facilities. It does not remove the participants' responsibility for their own safety, nor does it remove the overriding principle that motorsport, due to its very nature can be dangerous.

This standard applies for swimming pools as defined in WI00402001.

- natural and nature like pools.
NOTE          For filtration and circulation systems see prEN 16713  and prEN 16714.
The purpose of this standard is furthermore to ensure a consistently high quality of bath or pool water in terms of hygiene in order to prevent damage to human health, particularly as a result of pathogens. At the same time, account is also to be taken of the well-being of the bathers (e.g. by minimizing the side effects caused by disinfectants). To this end, requirements are specified for water quality and water treatment.
